Google Services (at least Google Reader) will sometimes complain "Grrr! A popup blocker may be preventing Google Reader from opening the page. If you have a popup blocker, try disabling it to open the window.". I don't have any kind of a popup blocker on Uzbl, and opening links works fine on Chromium.

www.cnn.com/live also complains about a non-existent popup blocker.

Try:

:set javascript_windows = 1

Does this fix the issue?
