You cannot switch to a tab by clicking on it, nothing happens.

I believe it shouldn't.

If you want some real GUI based on mouse events, you should enable GTK-tabs in your config instead of default. Those are clickable.

Yes. Making the default tablist clickable would be a major overhaul. The GTK tabs can be enabled by adding this to your config:

set show_gtk_tabs = 1
set show_tablist = 0
